EtherMate™
Ethernet over Multi-E1/T1 or 1 DS3 Inverse Multiplexer
Bridge the Gap between E1/T1/DS3 and Ethernet with TDM Inverse Multiplexing

EtherMate    EtherMate

Your LAN or high speed traffic may exceed 2 Mbps, yet not justify the cost of an STM-1/OC-3 pipe. EtherMate inverse multiplexer bridges the gap between E1/T1/DS3 and Ethernet, cost-effectively transports your LAN or high speed data traffic across multiple, stable, and robust TDM links.

Cost-Effective LAN Extension (LAN over WAN)
As broadband communications increases, so does the need for higher WAN bandwidth (above E1/T1/DS3 data rate). However, STM-1/OC-3 pipes are still very expansive. Moreover, they are not always readily available, and are often overkill for the traffic capacity.

EtherMate transfers Ethernet packets transparently, enabling service providers to use their next generation equipment in TDM environment. The pure Ethernet payload carried by EtherMate eliminates the need to invest in conversion equipment between Ethernet/IP and TDM, e.g. Router and CSU/DSU.

Applications

Application 1: Ethernet over Multi-E1/T1 or 1 DS3

Ethernet over Multi-E1/T1 or 1 DS3

Features

1. Effective transport of broadband traffic.
2. Build-in PRBS generation and analysis for quick testing.
3. Linear protection & backup.
4. Hitless bandwidth adjustment basing on ITUT G.7042 LCAS (Link Capacity Adjustment Scheme) (Optional).
5. Auto bandwidth adjustment.
6. Plug and play unit for easy use.
7. Virtual concatenation meets ITU-T Ethernet Over PDH standards (G.7043 & G.8040). Additional proprietary virtual concatenation technology provides better compatibility with other network elements.
8. E1/T1 differentiation delay compensation is up to 64 ms.
9. Remote alarm detect and configure.
10. Remote access: peer-to-peer In-band management (configuration and alarms report) through RS232 craft terminal, Web-based, or SNMP-based management via IP network.
11. Detect line failure automatically to increase/decrease bandwidth basing on line health conditions.
12. Loopback functions for diagnoses.
13. Support Ethernet packet length up to 2000 bytes for VLAN transparency.
14. Support LLCF (Link Loss Carry Forward) function.
